The problem we're solving

Each year, natural disasters cause tens of billions of dollars in losses across the United States alone. As storms, wildfires, floods, heatwaves, and earthquakes intensify, the human and economic toll continues to rise. Codes can safeguard lives, but not the systems that sustain them.

Where traditional climate risk tools stop at abstract scores, Iris predicts probabilistic outcomes that translate complex hazard data into consequences people can actually understand: downtime, repair costs, financial losses, and health and safety impacts.

We're changing the math on climate resilience. Risk modeling that's more accurate, more accessible, faster, and less expensive. Metrics people actually understand. And we go beyond telling organizations how bad it could get — Iris shows them what to do about it and connects them with the engineers who can make it happen.

Class 3 Technologies spun out of Arup, the global engineering consultancy behind some of the world's most complex built environment projects. Our founding team includes licensed professional engineers and PhDs in structural engineering who have shaped national and international approaches to quantifying and reducing climate and seismic risk.

They've published industry-defining frameworks, served on standards committees, and delivered resilience programs for some of the world's largest organizations. That same team built Iris to bring engineering depth to every building in a portfolio.

Arup Ventures incubated Class 3 and spun it out as an independent company to scale the platform's reach beyond Arup's client base.
